Lisheenkyle School is noted for its warm, friendly atmosphere. Our pupils from the surrounding catchment area have been joined over the years by boys and girls from many countries including England, the United States, Belgium, Poland, Brazil, Nigeria and Lithuania opening a wealth of cultural diversity for the school. We extend a particular welcome to children with special needs and learning difficulties and strive to cater for the academic and social needs of children of all abilities. |
The school follows the primary school curriculum placing special emphasis on numeracy and literacy to challenge the abilities of all the children. The children undergo formal and informal assessment and observation to alert teachers to their needs and requirements. Extra-curricular activities are available covering music, sport, martial arts, dancing and chess. Several theraputic activities are available for children with special educational needs including yoga, equine therapy and gardening therapy.' |
Led by Prinaipal Mrs Anne Keary, we work hand-in-hand with our Board of Management which comprises church, school, parental and community members who meet regularly to devise policy and procedures. We have an open-door policy for parents who complete the essential triangle of child-school-home, working as a unit to develop a mutually positive relationship in which the children feel safe and secure and enjoy the benefits of a fully supportive school and home life. |
